Cornerstone Nigeria partnered with Curacel to overhaul a manual, field-based vehicle inspection process and replace it with a fast, web-based, AI-assisted workflow that serves both pre-policy and claims needs.

Manual checks meant scheduling delays, travel costs, inconsistent assessments, and limited transparency; slowing policy issuance and stretching claims turnaround times.
“Innovation isn’t easy and it isn’t cheap. You have to define it properly and decide what you need to achieve,” said Oluwarotimi Adedeji, Deputy CTO, Cornerstone Nigeria.
Cornerstone adopted Curacel’s AI-powered Remote Vehicle Inspection & Damage Detection. Customers open a secure link, follow prompts, and record a ~one-minute video; computer vision analyzes the footage in real time, then hands a structured report to underwriting (Cici) and claims.
“We wanted an AI inspection app and integration with Cici, our AI chatbot. Curacel delivered, and they blew our minds,” Adedeji shared. “AI analyzes the vehicle, lets you review your recording, uploads it, and within seconds the inspection process is over.”

Automated checks, such as NIID portal validity, strengthen fraud prevention while standardized capture improves consistency across inspections. The approach scales without adding headcount or asking customers to download an app.
Cornerstone now moves from days to hours for pre-policy issuance, with many assessments completed within minutes after upload. Claims workflows benefit from clear, standardized reports and faster triage.
“Every assessment an adjuster needs is now done by AI within minutes,” Adedeji noted. “It felt like an impossible task, and Curacel delivered.”
Clear guidance, a mobile-friendly web flow, and rapid turnaround give customers transparency and speed at the moments that matter; policy activation and claims resolution, while Cornerstone’s teams gain a dependable, auditable process.
